    The Royal Society receives approximately £45 million per year from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as a Parliamentary Grant-In-Aid (PGA). A further £8-10 million of funding is received every year from private donations and industry. Nearly £42 million is spent annually by the Royal Society on grants and fellowships to support excellence in science. The allocation of this funding is shown below:
