In 1676 Isaac Newton said: "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

We have chosen See Further as our theme because it encapsulates what the Society is all about – Fellows of the Royal Society see further into the complexities of the universe by using a way of thinking called science.

To bring the See Further concept to life we are using 'moments of seeing further' as backdrops for all the materials and communications we’re producing for the anniversary celebrations and beyond.

These striking images represent the original moments of discovery of scientists who were able to 'see further' to change the world around them.
