    The Royal Society Global Environmental Research Committee (GERC) promotes and coordinates UK participation in the activities of the global evironmental research programmes and committees organised by the International Council for Science (ICSU) and its component bodies.

    Terms of Reference

    The Committee provides a unified forum to integrate the scientific development of UK participation in programmes like: International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), International Human Dimensions Programme (IHDP) and DIVERSITAS. The Committee meets twice a year and members include the chairs of the Royal Society's ICSU committees for SCOR and SCAR.
