We support research into science and mathematics education and produce policy reports.

The work complements the Royal Society's other policy projects and is supported through our links with schools in the Associate Schools & Colleges and Partnership Grants schemes.

An ambitious project to set out a vision for how the UK can develop an inspiring and high performing science and mathematics education system over the next 15-20 years.

Computing in Schools

An 18-month project looking at the way that computing is taught in schools, with support from 24 organisations from across the computing community including learned societies, professional bodies, universities, and industry.
State of the nation

A four year investigation into science and mathematics education in the United Kingdom, covering 5-19 education and the teaching workforce, completed in February 2011.

Supporting research

Education Research Fellowship
This grant scheme is for academics in the UK researching physics and mathematics education who are at an early stage of their career and have the potential to become leaders in their field.
