    Introduction

Scientists provide an excellent source of expert knowledge and inspiration for both students and teachers.

If you are a teacher looking for a scientist or engineer partner for a Partnership Grant project, please read the guidance on finding a suitable partner.

    Options for scientists

If you are a scientist looking to work with schools, you may like to consider these options:

    • Partnership Grants: The Royal Society offers up to £3,000 to schools to carry out creative investigations in partnership with a practising scientist or engineer.
    • STEM Ambassadors: The Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Ambassadors offers free training, support and a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check for inspiring role models for young people.

    Royal Society Research Fellows

Royal Society Research Fellows who would like to be more involved in our Education work should contact our Grants Office.

    Support for role models

In 2004 the Royal Society published a good practice guide on the use of role models (PDF) for scheme organisers, role models, and teachers.
