The aim for this conference is to explore how the ecosystem services concept can be integrated into biodiversity management. Drawing on the insights of science, economics and policy-making, this conference will explore technical innovations, research gaps and the science policy interface. Discussions will focus on determining actions required for effective management, protection and enhancement of the natural environment. The conference will draw together experts from around the world to share innovations, successes and challenges and it will explore the links between international science and policy, while examining projects from the local to the national scale.

The objective of the conference is to provide a forum for the science academies to develop and communicate perspectives and experience related to biodiversity and ecosystem services at national and international levels.
