    As the Government identifies ways of stimulating jobs and growth, The Academy of Medical Sciences, the British Academy, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society ask what part can science and research play in securing future prosperity in the UK?  What is the role of UK research in an industrial strategy designed to kickstart the economy?  And how can the UK's world leading reasearch base be translated into the world beating enterprises of the future?

    Join David Willetts MP, the Minister of State for Universities and Science, Tim Besley FBA, Professor of Economics and Political Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and former member of the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee, Simon Campbell FRS FMedSci, formerly Senior VP of Pfizer, and Dame Julia King FREng, Vice-Chancellor of Aston University in discussion with Giles Whittell from The Times to debate the role of UK science in driving growth and rebalancing the economy.
