Our international grants programme enables high calibre UK scientists to initiate collaborations, exchange ideas, develop new skills and experience from the world's leading researchers:
Joint Projects
Joint Project grants provide two years' support to cover costs of exchanging staff involved in collaborative research between a UK and an overseas group.
Networking scheme
The networking scheme is aimed specifically at developing new and enduring partnerships between the UK and China, India and South Africa. Grants are available for any field of science and technology and cover one to one meetings or small seminars/workshops.
Ghana/Tanzania - UK Science Networks
This networking scheme is designed to initiate and encourage enduring partnerships between scientists in the UK and Ghana/Tanzania. Grants cover thematic workshops and exploratory visits, ideally with a focus on any identified national research priority area of Ghana/Tanzania.
Short visits
Short visit grants, both to the UK, and from the UK , provide support for visits of between one week and three months, with the purpose of enhancing the research capabilities of individual scientists and developing collaborative links.
Conference grants
Conference grants provide travel and subsistence for UK scientists wishing to participate in conferences overseas.
