In addition to the establishment and naming of the Kavli Royal Society
International Centre, the Royal Society has established two ‘Kavli medals’ to
be awarded biennially in the fields of Environment/Energy and Education.
The Energy/Environment medal and the Education medal will both be
awarded in odd years beginning in 2011.
Medal winners will be requested to give a lecture or presentation either
at specialist scientific or educational meetings, or for the general public as
appropriate.
The Kavli Medal and Lecture is awarded for
excellence in all fields of science and engineering relevant to the environment
or energy.
The Kavli Education Medal is awarded to any
individual who has made a significant impact on science or mathematics
education within the UK.
