The Royal Society is looking to appoint a Project Manager, either as an individual contractor or through a company, to project manage the implementation of our new finance system. This is an exciting opportunity to support a dedicated and enthusiastic finance team on the first step on a journey of continuous improvement for our finance systems and processes.
The Society recently ran a finance system tender process and selected a supplier to provide a cloud-based finance system on the basis of implementing the minimum viable product for a go-live date of 1 October 2023. The new system will deliver all essential functionality, being able to efficiently process financial transactions and to integrate effectively with other systems, whilst providing a positive end user experience.
The contract is anticipated to be for a period of 40 weeks, starting in February 2023. The budget is based on 110 days of engagement, approximately apportioned at three days a week for 30 weeks and two days a week for 10 weeks. The detailed project plan is yet to be agreed and flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the project.
We are looking for a Project Manager with demonstrable experience and knowledge of:
- the charity sector, and
- project management of finance system implementation projects.
