The Partnership Grants Allocating Panel oversees the Partnership Grants Scheme, which is aimed at teachers of age 5 to 18 students. The scheme aims to engage students in real-world research in STEM subjects, improve perceptions of those working in STEM professions, and develop key skills not ordinarily acquired in the classroom. Schools can apply for up to £3000 for the purchase of equipment to complete their projects which can take anything from a month to several years to complete. The Panel meet twice per year, generally in November and June. There is an online judging process, in April, and other optional opportunities to be involved in the scheme. All of the administration of the scheme is undertaken by the Schools Engagement team at the Royal Society.
