Anniversary Day 2012
Friday 30 November 2012 marks the 352nd anniversary of the Royal Society's founding.
At the Anniversary Day meeting the President of the Royal Society, Sir Paul Nurse, made his second Anniversary Address, a keynote speech which addresses important issues in the world of science.

On this day Professor Anthony Cheetham FRS takes up the post of Treasurer and Vice-President of the Royal Society. He replaces Sir Peter Williams CBE FRS who has served for five years. In total there are ten new members of the Council of the Royal Society who take up office today.
Winners of the Society’s medals, awards and prizes are celebrated at a ceremony on Anniversary Day. The call for nominations for next year’s medallists opens today.
The annual Trustees’ Report and Financial Statements are also published today.
