The Society and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) jointly convene the Raymond and Beverly Sackler US-UK Scientific Forum, established to help the scientific leadership of the United Kingdom and the United States forge an enduring and productive partnership on pressing topics of worldwide scientific concern. The meetings alternate between the US and UK and have resulted in a number of published outputs summarising the discussion (listed below). Recent topics have included cybersecurity, machine learning and carbon capture and use. The next Sackler meeting will take place in November 2018 in Washington DC and will cover the impacts of climate change on ecosystems and adaptation. The program is made possible by a generous gift from Raymond and Beverly Sackler.
