Take one step away from the shore with the Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books.

Set yourself apart from the crowd on an expedition into unfamiliar scientific territory with the shortlisted authors and judges of the Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books 2011 as your guides.

Over the course of the evening, you’ll get a taste for each of the books and have the opportunity to share your thoughts with judges, including acclaimed author and previous winner Richard Holmes, writer, actor and TV presenter Robert Llewellyn as well as the shortlisted authors Alex Bellos, Guy Deutscher, Sam Kean, Guy Pretor-Pinney, Ian Sample, and Jon Turney.

The finale is the live announcement of the winner of the 2011 Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books.
