Teacher events

A number of events will be taking place within the UK to support those within the network, offering an opportunity for teachers to develop subject confidence and expertise by networking with other teachers, researchers and industry contacts.

These events are designed to offer a space to share ideas and good practice, and support those keen to enhance their current STEM enrichment and engagement activities.

Events coming up:

Evidence informed education CPD

  • Date:  Thursday 15 February, 2018
  • Time: 10am - 5pm
  • Location: The Royal Society, London

The Evidence informed education CPD event provides classroom teachers at primary and secondary level expert advice and guidance on the workings of evidence based policy. They will have the opportunity to scan the horizon to see what might be influencing our future teaching, and find out how they can influence the policy of the future. They will also find out about the current science policy work taking place at the Royal Society, and look at how the latest evidence and advice can support their lessons.

Support to attend: Up to £100 per person can be claimed to support reasonable travel to and from the event in line with our expenses policy. We may be able to provide extra support for those travelling more than 3 hours each way.

How to book: Please book via our Eventbrite page, or contact us for more information.

  • Time: 11am - 2pm
  • Location: The Royal Society, London

Your chance to chat to teachers who have run STEM projects through various schemes, to talk to scheme organisers and to see the work that students can produce when given access to these kind of opportunities. Whilst all the students will be secondary level there's no reason why a primary teacher shouldn't feel welcome to come along to find out more. As well as finding out more about the Partnership Grants Scheme, organisers from The British Science Association, Nuffield and IRIS will also be on hand to offer advice and support. Please note, a buffet lunch will be available.
