Resources for librarians

As essential members of the academic community, we’re looking to support you in the implementation, promotion and evaluation of your subscription, Read & Publish agreement or Open Access Membership.

Below you can:

  • Manage your account
  • Report on your institution's open access articles with OA Switchboard
  • Find information to support your researchers on their publishing journey
  • Download materials to promote your Royal Society agreement to your researchers

Account management

Our account management page provides information and downloads for librarians to help you get the best from your subscription to the Royal Society journals.

Since our migration to Atypon, many routine tasks can be done through the librarian’s administration area of the platform. If you have forgotten your password, please use the forgotten password function. If you need to reactivate your account, please email access@royalsociety.org and we will help you gain access.  For useful information on IP range, usage reporting and Shibboleth, go to manage your account

You can also see a full list of customer service contacts and fill in our IP registration form.

All our journals have now been syndicated to ResearchGate, increasing the visibility and accessibility of Royal Society articles. Institutional access will be automatically applied depending on the reader’s profile. Read the release to find out more

We’re using OA Switchboard to monitor and report on open access articles from institutions who have a Read & Publish agreement with us. Read & Publish partners can sign up to the service and generate useful reports that cover publishers they have an agreement with.

Some ideas for promotion:

  • Highlight a researcher – highlight a researcher at your institution who has published with us
  • Flag a collection – share our subject collections that may be especially useful for your researchers
  • Link to a theme issue – some of our theme issues may be particularly relevant to your research groups
