Rebuilding Ukraine’s science, research and innovation

The Royal Society has joined with the national academies of Ukraine, Denmark, Germany, Poland and the US and The ALLEA European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities to set out ten practical steps that can be taken to rebuild a modern and globally integrated science and research system in Ukraine.

The academies highlight the importance of a strong science, innovation, research and training system to ensure the long-term prosperity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

The statement recognises the challenges in making progress, given the ongoing situation in Ukraine, but highlights actions that can be taken in the short term as well as others that will depend on the evolving military and security situation in Ukraine.
