David Swinscoe is the Director of the Centre for Applied Sciences at City and Islington College running a broad range of science and engineering education for young people and adults in central London.
David studied physics at Bedford College, University of London. After spending some time in industry, David taught in both secondary and primary schools before moving to the Further Education sector to teach physics and electronics and manage science provision. He is an active member of the STEM education community involved in teacher and technician education, research and curriculum development. His previous role was LSIS STEM Strategic Director for Science, part of a team improving STEM teaching and learning in colleges and the wider learning and skills sector in England.
David is also a senior examiner and the Ghana coordinator of the Institute of Physics IoP for Africa programme.
