Georgina is a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Research Fellow in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. Her research explores the fundamentals of ionically conducting polymers and the interplay between ionic and electronic transport, encompassing both conjugated and non-conjugated redox-active materials. Her group synthesises polyesters, polycarbonates, and polyethers via controlled catalytic ring-opening polymerisation, developing materials that mimic the mechanical properties of biological tissues for bioelectronics, alongside redox-active polymers for memory devices and batteries. Her PhD developed sustainable sugar-based polycarbonates for tissue engineering, and her postdoctoral research investigated bio-derived degradable thermoplastic elastomers and multifunctional polymeric binders for solid-state cathodes.
