Research summary

Cyclic compounds are widely presented in natural products and synthetic pharmaceuticals. Annulation reaction is a powerful tool for synthesis of cycles from starting materials under mild condition. My research interest is focused on the development of new annulation reactions. Through using zwitterion as reactive intermediate, I studied metal-catalyzed cycloaddition reactions of reactive dipolar species with stable 1,3-dipoles and Lewis base-catalyzed cycloaddition reactions of reactive dipolar species with stable 1,3-dipoles. In addition, with the use of chiral organocatalyst or metal catalyst, asymmetric cycloaddition reactions have been explored to efficiently synthetize cyclic compounds containing multi chiral centers with good enantioselectivity and diastereoselectivity.
