Professor John Mitchell OBE FRS

John Mitchell’s main research interests are the understanding and prediction of climate change. His work has included contributions to the role of clouds in climate change and to the detection of human influences on the global climate. He has been a lead author in three assessments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

His awards include the 2004 Hans Oeschger Medal of the European Geosciences Union and the Royal Meteorological Society’s Symons Gold Medal. John is currently Principal Research Fellow at the Met Office and a Visiting Professor at the University of Reading.
