Summary: Graphene is a novel two-dimensional material - it consists of one layer of carbon atoms packed into a hexagonal structure. It’s unique electronic, optical and mechanical properties make this material extremely interesting for applications in microelectronics and composite materials. Over the last year we concentrated on the unusual electronic properties of this material. The progress in production of graphene allowed us to obtain devices with extremely high quality – thousands times better than typical silicon transistors. This immediately led to the observation of several exciting effects in electronic properties of this material.
