Martin Pollard is CEO of the Primary Science Teaching Trust, a registered charity which supports science teaching across the UK. He is a qualified teacher with more than 20 years of experience working in education. He previously worked for the Council for Education in World Citizenship, where he organised numerous events and debates on global issues and provided CPD training to more than 2,000 teachers. He was Chief Executive of the Welsh Centre for International Affairs from 2009 to 2018, and of the Learned Society for Wales from 2018 to 2021.


Martin currently chairs STEM Learning’s Science Partnership Advisory Group. Among his previous roles, he was a founder member of the Celtic Academies Alliance, Chair of the Wales Alliance for Global Learning, national representative on the World Schools Debating Council, and trustee of the Wales Council for Voluntary Action. He was a finalist in the 2018 Leading Wales Awards.
