Research summary

I develop new nitride materials for energy-efficient devices. The main application of these materials is in solid-state lighting, but they can also be used to develop improved high electron mobility transistors (which are found everywhere from mobile phone base stations, to washing machines, to heavy industry). I am also working on extending the properties of this family of materials to allow multifunctional devices to be developed, for future memory and 'spintronic' computing applications.
