Phil Cox studied at the University of Cambridge, held positions at the Universities of Liverpool and York, and is now Associate Professor of Anatomy at University College London. His research is focused on the form and function of the mammalian skull, using statistical shape analysis and biomechanical simulation to uncover the link between anatomy and feeding behaviour. His research spans all mammals, but he has a particular interest in rodents.
Phil became involved with public engagement and the Partnership Grants scheme through his APEX grant on squirrel skulls and feeding. He is working with a number of primary schools across the UK to foster their interest in local wildlife and conservation.
