Research summary

My general field of research is the study of the biogeochemical cycles of nitrogen and carbon in the main reservoirs of the planet (hydrosphere -rivers and ocean-, atmosphere and land). Currently I ‘m evaluating optical proxies of particulate organic carbon and using optical data from autonomous platforms to better understand the function of oceanic oxygen minimum zones controlling the biological carbon pump efficiency sequestering atmospheric CO2. This information is needed to improve mechanistic models that predict the feedbacks between the ocean carbon cycle and the Earth’s climate.
