Tanja Hofmann is a Director of Curriculum responsible for STEM subjects in an outstanding sixth form college in Suffolk. STEM courses offered at the college range from A-level and vocational Sciences and Maths, to vocational qualifications in Engineering and ICT.

Tanja maintains strong links with the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Essex where she completed her PhD studies in Environmental Biology and worked as a post-doctoral researcher before becoming an environmental consultant and eventually a qualified teacher.

She has successfully obtained funding from the Royal Society partnership grant scheme working with researchers at Essex University on two separate occasions. Both projects focussed on engaging students with plant sciences, a subject area often overlooked that she is extremely passionate about.
