Research summary

My interest is to explore the fundamental properties of photonic nanostructures, to identify novel functionalities and to translate them into applications. Having established an international leadership position in photonic crystals, I am now developing photonic nanostructures for applications in communications, light emission, photovoltaics and biosensors as well as working towards industrial translation of this technology.
