Professor Tien Yin Wong is a physician-scientist-innovator and the Senior Vice-Chancellor of Tsinghua Medicine and Vice-Provost of Tsinghua University, China. He has worked and held senior leadership roles in Singapore and Australia, including at Duke-NUS Medical School—a partnership between Duke University in the US and the National University of Singapore, SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, and Singapore National Eye Centre and University of Melbourne.
Professor Wong has led research in artificial intelligence and digital technologies to improve screening, diagnosis and prediction of major eye and systemic diseases. His AI research has been adopted in Singapore’s national diabetes screening programs and internationally. He has published extensively with over 1,600 papers, including papers in the NEJM, Lancet and JAMA.
Professor Wong has received numerous accolades, including the Arnall Patz Medal from the Macula Society, the Friedenwald Award from ARVO, the Australian Commonwealth Health Minister's Award, and Singapore's President’s Science and President’s Science and Technology Awards. He is an elected Fellow of the Singapore National Academy of Sciences, international Member of U.S. National Academy of Medicine and international Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.
