On 30 November, Lord May of Oxford delived the annual Presidential Address to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Royal Society in 1660. This year's address on 'Global problems and global science' deals with how the international scientific community can help to tackle major issues such as climate change, the spread of infectious diseases and poverty in the developing world. Only Fellows of the Royal Society are permitted to watch Lord May's address at the Society but a broadcast will be available to view in a few days.
