In March 2013 over 70 outstanding early career scientists from the UK and Russia came together in a snowy Kazan, Russia for a Frontiers of Science meeting. The meeting was a great success, covering a diverse range of disciplines and allowing the scientists to develop networks with each other.
The meeting was jointly organised by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tartarstan and the Royal Society. The President of the Tatarstan Academy, Academician A M Mazgarov, who attended some of the meeting commented on the success of the meeting:
“Frontiers of Science 2013 was a fruitful platform where young UK and Russia scientists held interesting scientific discussions, looked for answers to crucial challenges of modern times, established contacts and outlined joint scientific projects.”
