Royal Society Cafe Scientifique exploring the evironmental factors affecting the onset of psychosis

Overview

Café Scientifique exploring the role of social, built and physical environments in the onset of psychotic disorders.

Dr James Kirkbride explores how our external environment affects the risk of experiencing a psychotic episode.

Psychosis is characterised by a loss of contact with reality. From minor hallucinations through to disorders such as schizophrenia, the symptoms are wide-ranging and diverse.

Café Scientifique events are dialogue-based and allow for time for discussion between and amongst the audience and the speaker.
