A recent revolution in our genetic understanding of illnesses like schizophrenia and autism has produced some surprising insights.

We discovered how new research in neuroscience could lead to better treatments and a more realistic view of mental health.

Dr Liz Tunbridge is a Royal Society Research Fellow and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford.
