Molecular music: The sound of chemistry

Location

National Science and Media Museum, Pictureville, Bradford, BD1 1NQ

Overview

At first glance, chemistry and music don’t have much in common. Dr Nicolas Barry and Dr William Martin from the University of Bradford will show you otherwise.

Molecular music allows you to hear the sound of chemistry

In their talk, as part of the launch evening of the Bradford Science Festival at the Museum of Science and Media, they’ll play you the sounds of vibrating chemical bonds. Each molecule has its own unique set of musical notes which will only change in a chemical reaction. Join Dr Barry and Dr Martin to hear more about their research and the sounds of their musical molecules.
