Summer Science Exhibits on Tour at the Foyle Science Showcase

The Royal Society is pleased to support three museums funded by the Places of Science scheme at the Foyle Science Showcase, part of NI Science Festival.

Marconi's Moyle - Ballycastle Museum and W5

Get hands-on with radio revolutionary Guglielmo Marconi's fascinating discoveries in radio communication. Learn about the history of long-distance communication, the science of radio waves, and about Marconi's experiments across the Sea of Moyle.

The evolving science of digging up the past - Coleraine Museum

Where is the earliest known settlement in Ireland? What was the biggest village in the Bronze Age? How heavy was Viking armour? Staff from Coleraine Museum will have a range of genuine and replica artefacts, ranging from prehistoric times to the 17th century, for visitors to discover the answers to these questions and more!

Matilda's challenge - Mid-Antrim Museum

Find out about 19th century botanist Matilda Knowles and what she discovered. Take the challenge to find out what lichen can tell us about our environment.
