This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2026.

History and science collide as we uncover the latest technologies and scientific methods that tell us where we came from, where we’re going and what to make of the world around us.

Join our panel of specialists using artificial intelligence, digital reconstructions and scientific investigation to reveal new truths about human history and the ancient past.

Speakers include:

  • Dr Frankie Dunn – Senior researcher at the Oxford Museum of Natural History, whose research is concerned with understanding the origin and early evolution of animals
  • Lina Žilinskaitė – Film producer whose credits include 2025’s Titanic, The Digital Resurrection, charting a massive undersea scanning project to create the first high-resolution 3D digital twin of the Titanic
  • Sara Polak – Tech archaeologist and research associate at the University of Oxford School of Archaeology
  • Raksha Dave (Chair) – Archaeologist, award-winning author, broadcaster and President of the Council for British Archaeology, whose broadcast credits include Time Team, Digging for Britain and The Great Plague
