In this issue we see how the Society’s second home, the Kavli Royal Society International Centre, has been inspiring collaboration and new ideas during its first year of operation. The Society investigates issues relating to the openness of scientific data in a new study: Science as a Public Enterprise. Also, research on physical activity falls under the spotlight as we hear from a Brazilian scientist, whose Newton International Fellowship facilitated a collaboration in the UK.
