In my research, I employ first-principles computational methods and parallel computing to investigate the adsorption and self-organization of organic molecules interacting with solid surfaces. My current research interests include: dynamics of surface diffusion, supramolecular self-assembly and catalysis on two-dimensional nanomaterials.
Twins Noah and Emilia were born few months after I was awarded a University Research Fellowship, therefore both my life and career changed dramatically at the same time. We moved to Reading when the babies were a month old. In the process, my wife had to give up her teaching job. It is very challenging to find a delicate balance between a home with small baby twins and a brand-new research position. Every day I try to be home in time for helping with the bedtime routine of the babies.
