Our response stressed the need for better engagement with the scientific community to assess the shortlist of options for the management of radioactive waste that have been drawn up by CoRWM. The importance of combining options for waste management in order to deal with the complexity of the UKs historical waste was also highlighted. Finally we recommended that consideration be given to how selected options will be implemented after CoRWM have reported to the government in 2006.
