The Commons Science and Technology Committee are conducting an inquiry to examine what lessons have been drawn from the Ebola outbreak last year concerning the use of scientific advice in the UK for similar disease outbreak emergencies in future.
The Royal Society and Academy of Medical Sciences have responded jointly to highlight the role of science in responding to emergencies and make recommendations to improve future responsiveness.
