The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills recently consulted on how the government can maximise the opportunities from Innovate UK’s integration into Research UK.
In its response to the consultation, the Society recognises the benefits of closer links between Innovate UK and the research councils. It also emphasises the need for robust mechanisms to maintain autonomy of funding streams and the importance of wide and transparent consultation for policy development and implementation.
