The Royal Society have commissioned an external evaluation of the University Research Fellowship Scheme. We have appointed an independent consultant, Dr Laura Meagher to carry out this evaluation. She will be collecting data through surveys and interviews, and by doing so act as data processor for the Royal Society, as defined in data protection legislation.
For the purpose of this evaluation, the Royal Society is the data controller in respect of the personal data collected within the scope of this privacy notice. The Royal Society’s approach to privacy and safeguarding of personal information can be found here.
The Royal Society contact responsible for this evaluation project is Tanja K Floyd, Senior Manager, Impact and Evaluation: tanja.floyd@royalsociety.org.
The online surveys and any related interviews in this project will collect responses to understand award holder, panel member and other stakeholders’ views and experiences of the University Research Fellowship Scheme. Surveys will be collected using Smart Survey, a UK based survey software.
Results from these surveys and interviews will be summarised in an evaluation report that Dr Laura Meagher will write. Its purpose is to assist the Royal Society to ensure that these schemes run effectively and are fit for purpose, and to inform any adjustments to their design or delivery. In that report, all results will be anonymised.
Any personal data collected through surveys or interviews will only be held as long as it is required for the purpose collected, and it will be deleted after the completion of the project.
If you have any additional question about this evaluation, your participation in the evaluation, or about your personal data in relation to this evaluation, you can contact Dr Laura Meagher (laura.meagher@btinternet.com) or Tanja K Floyd (tanja.floyd@royalsociety.org).
