Funding pilots

We currently have two pilot projects for the network, both supporting new activities within the school / college at either primary or secondary level. One is focused towards new project work in mathematics, data or computer science, and one focused on setting up new maths or problem solving clubs.

Further details will be posted here or sent via the fortnightly email alert, but if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Pilot 1: Project funding pilot

Do you, or one of your colleagues, have an idea for a project around mathematics, data science, data handling or computer science to run with your students? We are looking to fund a small number of projects, as a pilot study, to start before the end of March 2018. Each project would have to:

  • be run in collaboration with a university or STEM industry partner;
  • have at least 10-15 students able to work on them; and
  • have enough teacher capacity to undertake some reporting and evaluation for us as the pilot progresses.

Funding of up to £3,000 is available per project.

Please let us know by 30 November 2017 if you are interested and we will be in touch with more information.

Pilot 2: Club funding pilot

Would you, or one of your colleagues, be interested in setting up a new maths or problem solving club for students? We are looking to award several start-up grants of up to £500 to run clubs focusing on these areas. Each club would need to:

  • be set up before the end of March 2018;
  • have at least 10 students able to attend them regularly; and
  • have enough teacher capacity to undertake some reporting and evaluation for us as the pilot progresses.

Please let us know by 30 November 2017 if you are interested and we will be in touch with more information.
