This statement covers the Royal Society response to Office of Science and Technology consultation on Foresight. The Society welcomes the intention to broaden participation, promote interactions between panels and between the various sectors involved. Thinking globally and long term will be central to the success of the next exercise. Getting these things right is more important than concentrating on specific predictions.
