S&T Committee (Lords): Complementary and alternative medicine

Complementary and alternative medicine is popular with patients and is increasingly being offered on the NHS. This report looks at the evidence available on the effectiveness of a selection of therapies from acupuncture to herbalism and makes recommendations for further research requirements. The report recommends properly designed clinical trials be carried out to address the current lack of authoritative information on alternative therapies.
