European Commission: European strategy for nanotechnology

In May 2004 the European Commission adopted a Communication on Nanotechnology. It launched an associated consultation - Towards a European Strategy for Nanotechnology - in July 2004. In response to this consultation we submitted our report on nanotechnology - Nanoscience and nanotechnologies: opportunities and uncertainties - that we published jointly with the Royal Academy of Engineering in July 2004. We welcomed the fact that a number of the recommendations made in our report were addressed in the Commissions Communication.
