In May 2004 the Royal Society submitted a response to consultations by the Medical Research Council on the Use of Human Stem Cell Lines and the Codes of Practice for the UK Stem Cell Bank. The response supports the underlying principles of the proposed Codes of Practice but urges that they are not made too restrictive to hamper future research.
