In October 2004 the Royal Society submitted a response to an inquiry by the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee into the Scientific Aspects of Ageing. The response outlines the major avenues of ageing research in the UK and suggests more could be done to co-ordinate ageing research across the Research Councils and health service.
