The response builds on the Societys previous work on codes of conduct including the June 2005 paper The roles of codes of conduct in preventing the misuse of scientific research and the InterAcademy Panel Statement on biosecurity, which the Society was involved in drafting and has endorsed.
CST: A universal code for scientists
01 October 2005
The Royal Society responded to the Council for Science and Technology's (CST) consultation on its document Rigour, respect and responsibility: a universal code for scientists. The Society supports the broad principles and aims promoted by the CST document. We also welcome its clarity and brevity. The response addresses the questions raised in the consultation including how the CST code could be promoted more widely.
