The Royal Society has a history of contributing to debates on international development and the role that science can play in this important agenda. In this submission, the Society reiterates the value of science, engineering, technology and innovation in international development; the importance of building a stronger educational and research base; tackling climate change, food, water and energy insecurity; and strengthening governance mechanisms.
